The younger generations of upper classes, during the post-war decade, changed the gentlemanly life-style of their ancestor and took new modern habits like cigarette smoking, cinema going and freer attitudes in sexual matters. Their target was the unbridled fun.
Also the family was influenced by 'The roaring twenties', in fact disappeared the strongholds of Victorian family, that became smaller and less united due to frequent divorces
